A JetBlue aircraft operating Flight B6948 reportedly struck a drone while on final approach to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the incident occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m. local time on Monday, June 29, while the aircraft was descending through about 3,000 feet.
After reporting the drone strike during the approach, the flight crew continued and landed safely at the airport.
A post-flight inspection found no damage to the aircraft. The FAA has launched an investigation into the incident.
